I was born in Seoul, Korea. Recently, Seoul has begun to get as hot as Tokyo. Especially, it rains a lot because it is rainy season. Sometimes it's cool when it rains, but it's so stuffy because it's maintained at 30 degrees.
When we asked, "Why is it hot in summer?" most people say that the distance between the Earth and the sun is close. In fact, the distance between the Earth and the Sun is farthest in July and closest in January. It is easy to understand that it is not hot because of the distance considering the Southern Hemisphere. When we are in summer, the southern hemisphere of the earth is in winter. If you ask the question, "Why is winter cold in the southern hemisphere?" you can easily see that the previous answer is wrong.
It gets hotter in the summer because the sun's altitude increases. This is because, more accurately, the sun's altitude increases and the amount of sunlight per unit area, or daily radiation, increases. The elevation of the sun changes dramatically before and after the equinox. About a month and a half after the equinox, the sun's altitude in early May is almost the same as in mid-August. By late May, there is little difference from the sun's altitude in the summer. This is because the Sun's elevation changes to a wave-shaped sine curve.
This photo was taken in Gangwon-do on May 2, 2021. I like to go to the beach with my family in summer, but I can't have a happy time with my family in Japan now. Therefore, I want to go to the beach in Japan with my friends.
