Chuseok

The holiday celebration that I will introduce this time is Chuseok in Korea.

In fact, I wanted to introduce the event called Easter, but since the event is in the first week of April, I would like to introduce about the upcoming Chuseok.

Chuseok is from September 20th to 22nd. It is one of the four major holidays in Korea. On Chuseok, the ancestral rites are held with grains and fruits that have been raised for a year. Christians pray to the oxygen of their dead relatives or family members. I also want to go see my maternal grandfather, but I'm afraid I can't.

In the old days, villagers used to gather and play tug-of-war and shout unity, but now it is impossible because of Corona.

Songpyeon eaten during Chuseok is very delicious. Songpyeon is one of the traditional Korean rice cakes. When you chew it, you can feel the taste of honey or red bean. So everyone can eat it, but the elderly usually eat red beans because eating rice cakes with honey can cause problems in their teeth. It also means that if you eat songpyeon, you will get one more age.

In fact, these days, children are not interested in rice cakes, so they often eat meat instead of rice cakes. But rice cakes are good for your health.
